Fairsing Vinyard honors Mary Ann McNally’s paternal grandmother Hannah Dardis with this addition to our Matriarch Series of distinct estate wines.
Poised and elegant, the Dardis Pinot noir is characteristic of a classic Yamhill-Carlton Pinot noir with silky texture, dark fruit flavors, and structured tannins.
Both on the nose and on the palate dark cherry and blueberry flavors permeate this velvety wine. The refined tannin framework is balanced and layered with a savory minerality.
Crafted from Dijon 115 and Pommard from the western bowl of Fairsing, this wine fermented in two-ton fermenters before moving to barrel. Darker and higher impact barrels are sourced for the Dardis program from coopers Taransaud and Mercurey.
Total elevage was 10 months in 30% new French oak before bottling in August 2017 with a final alcohol of 13.8%.
Incredible now, this wine will cellar well through 2028.
